Nokia has today announced the availability of the Nokia 6210 introduced at CeBIT 2000 in Hannover, Germany, and at the Nokia – Designed for Life event in Hong Kong earlier this year. The phone supports both High Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) with data speed of up to 43.2 kbps and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and is primarily targeted to mobile professionals. "It is with pleasure that we announce the start of the Nokia 6210 deliveries in Europe. The first units of this WAP enabled new Classic category dualband GSM model have started to roll out of our factories today, and the phone will be widely available to consumers in retail outlets next week. This is the phone of choice for a large number of users who have eagerly been waiting for the next highly advanced business model from Nokia, after the very popular Nokia 6110 and 6150 models," said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Nokia Mobile Phones, Europe and Africa. High Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) will make the Nokia 6210 a perfect tool for retrieving email and having Internet access with a compatible laptop computer. The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enables compliant Internet content to be retrieved from and delivered to a mobile phone. In addition to public WAP services, the Nokia 6210 can easily be integrated in an enterprise's information management infrastructure, enabling access to critical company information such as databases, Intranet and email. The Nokia 6210 and the compatible Nokia PC Suite program have a number of features to assist a company to configure a large number of phones with company-specific WAP access points, dictionaries and other information. The size and big display of the Nokia 6210 enable easy operation. The phone is only 18 mm thick with the standard slim battery and weighs only 114 grams.
